Hey! I am Nihar Saketh. I am a freshman at MSU majoring in computer science engineering. I also am planning on minoring in business, but not pretty sure at the moment. I decided on CSE as my major as I was always one of those kids who lived a lot with computers throughout their life. I am also interested in building stuff like miniature robots, though I am not a professional at it but pretty good at some things in the field. I chose this course as a part of my arts and humanities substitutions. Though I am taking this course as a substitution I am very much enthralled to pursue Digital History because I feel like digitalizing age-old historical data is itself more fascinating than most other subjects out there. Before coming to Michigan State I was a student in India. The sudden change in teaching methods, place, and culture caused me to take some time to adjust. I developed a liking for the professors here who kindly answer any of the questions and problems I face here.
Some of the hobbies I have are reading books, numismatics(this might be related to history to some extent), listening to songs, and hanging out with friends. I love collecting old currency bills and coins. I also think that numismatics is a hobby that has been in my family for a really long time and that might be one of the factors why I am also quite interested in it. The oldest coin I collected is a coin from 17th century India, it is then called an “ANNA” and it is now valued at 0.076 cents. I think collecting coins is something that is embedded deep into my heart and has a really special value.
I look forward to completing this course with a lot of enthusiasm. I make sure I will give my best to this course and complete it with no regrets.
